Parent Involvement Program (PIP)
Purpose:
The purpose of this program is twofold:

Engage the parents of the students of St. Mary of the Assumption in becoming
involved in programs within the St Mary of the Assumption Parish Community,
in order for them to meet and develop relationships with other parents,
teachers and staff.

Support Parish and school programs with the needed volunteers that enable
St. Mary of the Assumption to keep the cost of a Catholic education
affordable to all families.
Program Administration
and oversight:
The PIP program is administered by the
School’s Parent Advisory Board.
They are responsible for the following functions:

Determine which functions / programs will qualify for PIP hours

Determine the amount and type of hours to be earned

Determine the average cost per hour
-
Review Hardship claims
-
Appoint and oversee the PIP Program Administrator Function

Review and reply to any emails sent to the PIP email account
Role of the PIP
Program Administrator
-
Maintain and update the PIP Database on a continuous
basis
-
Hours to be submitted by Program Chairperson through the school
administration
-
Provide PIP Statement reports on a minimum of a bimonthly basis
-
Review and modify PIP database as determined by the Advisory Board
-
Provide Advisory Board and Tuition Coordinator an accurate list of all
Families that have not completed hours for billing purposes at the end of
the school year.
The PIP Program Administrator receives credit for all
required PIP hours.
Requirements of the
PIP Program:
Each family is required to complete 15 hours of service in
the approved programs as defined in the School Handbook for the current school
year.

Board Responsibility

Events to be included as approved hours to be reviewed annually by the
Board

Board will determine, with approval from the Pastor the number of hours
and the qualified events to earn hours.
Non completion of the required hours will result in an
additional fee per hour to be added to the tuition in the current school year.

Board will determine, with approval of the Pastor the per hour fee
These requirements will be reviewed and approved by the
Advisory Board on an Annual Basis and changes or modifications included in the
School Handbook.
Hardship Cases:
Families may submit a request for hardship in order to exempt
them from the required PIP hours. (Outlined in student handbook)
