  Biography:

Hello- My name is Peggy Hill and I am the Speech Language Pathologist at St. Mary’s. I am beginning my 6th year here. I am located in the Learning Center which is located next to the Weaver Center. I provide group and individualized instruction in articulation, phonology, language and fluency disorders/delays. I am here on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

I received my training from Cleveland State University. I have an undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing and obtained my Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology. My first job out of college was at Meridia Euclid Hospital where I worked with both adults and children on an outpatient basis. I worked there for 4 years and then moved to Lake Hospital System where I worked with acute stage adult stroke patients who suffered from language disruption (aphasia) and difficulty swallowing (dysphagia). I worked at Lake Hospital for 12 years. While it was quite rewarding and I loved all my patients, I knew in my heart that my true passion was working with children…Hence began my job at St. Mary’s…

I began in January, 2002. As soon as I walked in the door and heard "Good Morning Mrs. Hill" in unison from the second graders I knew that this is where I wanted to be! My career here at St. Mary’s has been very fulfilling and rewarding. There is nothing better than seeing one of my students gain the confidence to seek a speaking part in the Christmas show or annual play.

On a personal note, I am married and have a very active 10 year old boy. He keeps my spare time pretty busy between chauffeuring him to karate, basketball, baseball and attending all his games and competitions. We have two cats, as all my students know! And…we are actively trying to talk Mr. Hill into something that BARKS! Time will tell! I enjoy reading, watercolor painting, and browsing through antique stores whenever possible.

Stop by the Learning Center and see our new theme. We have converted our Jungle theme into Under the Sea!
