Biography: Hello, my name is Caitlin Kish and I am very excited to announce that I will be your new music teacher at St. Mary of The Assumption. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I recently graduated from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, located just outside of our state capital, Columbus, Ohio. While in college, I student taught at an inner-city school called The 5th Avenue Alternative Elementary School for International Studies. This was a very cool school because some of the children were from different countries, such as, China; Mexico; and Somalia. Soon after student teaching I graduated from with a Bachelors degree in Music Education. I actually grew up in Mentor and went to elementary school at Phillips-Osborne School and high school at The Andrews School. In elementary and middle school I started to play the piano and clarinet. In high school I was very involved in choir and musical theatre. I played in The Sound of Music as well as The Fantastics. I was also involved in sports like volleyball, lacrosse, and horse-back riding. In fact, I have enjoyed riding most of my life and continue to this day with my horse Levi. I’m sure you will see pictures of him in my classroom. I can’t wait to start off the new school year. I have heard so much about how great the St Mary’s community is and can’t wait to experience it first hand. Please feel free to stop in the music room and allow me get to know you! |
