Biography: I was born on January 20, 1978, and grew up here in Mentor, Ohio. I attended St. Mary of the Assumption School until sixth grade when I left to attend Ridge Junior High and later Mentor High School. While in school, I played many sports including football, baseball, basketball, track, and bowling. I was a member of Student Council for three years and was involved in many clubs such as Community Service Club, Paper Recycling Club, and Future Leaders. I always loved art and music and was even the lead singer in two heavy metal bands - one for five years and the other for one year. I attended Lakeland Community College for my Associate's Degree and Lake Erie College for my Bachelor's Degree in Middle School Education. My true educational love is history and I could turn on the History Channel at almost any time of the day. I currently attend John Carroll University where I am pursuing my Master's Degree in Educational Administration. In between all of this, I found time to spend several months in Europe on three separate occasions - once as an exchange student in high school, another after graduating college, and the third to spend time with my brother who lived in Italy. I have been a teacher at St. Mary of the Assumption since 2004 and was originally hired to teach fourth and fifth grade science, although that obviously changed shortly afterwards. I have coached football for seven years total (only three at SMS though) and basketball for four years. Also while at SMS, I began several clubs including Yearbook Club, Chess Club, Debate Club, Model UN, Future City, Garden Club, Astronomy Club, and helped continue Science Olympiad and Paper Recycling Club. Finally, I am not married and do not any children. I am a devoted Catholic and believe firmly that God acts in our lives every day. I love Cleveland football (I bleed orange and brown!) and have a love/hate relationship with the Indians - mostly because of Eric Wedge's decision making. LeBron is amazing but he's not the next Michael Jordan. I purchased my first house in August, 2007, in north Mentor. I created this web site last year after updating the original one during the 2006-07 school year and will continue to do so this school year. Ideally, I'd love to teach college one day or be a principal of a middle/elementary school. I am also currently growing my hair long so that I can donate it to Locks of Love, which makes wigs for cancer patients. My hair IS CURRENTLY long enough to donate; however, I have honestly become a tad attached to it. I will be donating it shortly though so don't be surprised when I come to school one day with short hair! Lastly, the flags on the left are the flags of my ancestral heritage taken from www.infoplease.com. |
