My name is Nancy Taddeo and I am entering my
first year as a teacher’s aide for the 4 year old preschool and will be
co-chairman for the Harvest Gala, one of our school’s largest
fundraisers. I have been a parishioner at St. Mary’s for 42 years
and was privileged to complete my elementary education right here at St.
Mary’s School. I have two children Nicole and Vincent, both of
whom attended St. Mary’s through the 8th grade. Nikki
continued her education at Lake Catholic High School while participating
in competitive gymnastics for Lake Catholic as well as the West End
YMCA. She spent her freshman year at Mercyhurst College in Erie,
Pa., where she achieved Dean’s List and became a member of the Freshman
Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma. This year she has transferred to
John Carroll University to pursue her major in Early Childhood Education
while helping to coach the competitive gymnastics team at the West End
YMCA. Vincent is presently a senior at Lake Catholic. He is a
member of the Varsity Basketball and Varsity Baseball teams, as well as
the National Honor Society. He is in the process of determining
which college he would prefer to attend with plans to continue his
baseball career.
Like my children, I also graduated from Lake
Catholic High School and continued my education at Bowling Green State
University graduating in 1982 with a B.S. in Business
Administration/Marketing. After college I met my husband, Vince,
and we were married in October of 1985. Vince has worked at Pepsi
Americas 22 years and is currently an Account Executive. In 1988 I
left my job at Casual Corner to become a full time mom with the birth of
Nikki. As a result, I was able to contribute countless volunteer
hours to my parish and school. I have participated in our parish as a
Parish Council Member, Right to Life Chairman, I organize the Birth
Right Cradle every October, have captained a game booth at the festival
for 10 years and finally became the Co-Chair of managing the games at
the St. Mary’s Festival, while my husband, Vince helps to organize the
festival itself. While a parent at St. Mary’s, I was privileged to be a
Catholic Identity Chairman and member of the Parent Advisory Board, Vice
President of PTU, Organizer of the 8th Grade Field Trip,
junior high teacher’s aide, Book Fair Co-chairman (with our librarian,
Joan Zele), room mom, library aide, and Cheerleader Coordinator to
mention a few. I re-entered the work force 16 years later as a
legal secretary at The O’Brien Law Firm (formerly Greene and
Tulley, LPA).
In my spare time I enjoy reading and scrap
booking. My favorite time is spent with my family, watching
Nikki’s gymnastics and Vincent’s baseball and basketball games.
It is with great excitement and gratitude
that I begin my career with St. Mary’s School. St. Mary’s has held
a special place in my heart and I only hope that I can give back to the
school and parish the hours of enjoyment and fulfillment that they have
given me.
