My name is Joan Zele and I am entering my fifth school year as librarian at St. Mary of the Assumption School.  It is a privilege to be a part of the wonderful faculty and staff at St. Mary of the Assumption School for another year. I look forward to meeting our many new students and their families who will become a part of our parish family this year.  Welcome!

I am a 1984 graduate of Kent State University. In 1986 my husband and I moved to Mentor and became members of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish. We have two sons, Jimmy who is 22, and Matt who is 18 years old. Both are graduates of St. Mary’s School and Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School. Jimmy graduated in May from St. Bonaventure University and Matt will be attending The Ohio State University as a freshman this fall. Go Bucks!    

Although I enjoy my time in the library, I have other interests and activities that occupy my time as well.  My favorite activity is spending time with my husband and children.  Golf, decorating, traveling, baking, reading and spending time with my friends are other ways I spend my time outside of work.
